Artisti is one of three private homes that are
part of a fully restored ancient building that
has both Roman and Medieval architecture. This
charming apartment is steeped in Artistic history.
Artisti was originally owned by the Italian painter,
Cascianelli, in the early 20th century who has
painted some of Todi's most important frescos.
The
apartment was later occupied by a great Pulitzer-prize
poet and today maintains the charm of Roman and
Medieval times: from the spacious outdoor landing
in front of the main door you can sit and enjoy
the Medieval street and courtyard, the ancient
arches and vaults. There is a Roman well in the
basement that is connected to the main Roman cisterns
and the interior consists of imposing century-old
wooden beams and terracotta tiled floors.
Nestled
on a quite street off of Todi's Piazza Di Popolo,
apartment artisti is only a five-minute walk to
Todi’s main square, with its 12th century
cathedral, town hall, clustering of outdoor cafes
and frequent cultural events.
Apartment
Artisti offers privacy and charm only steps away
from the main square. The apartment and building
were restored in 2006 using all original materials,
such as terracotta tiles on the floors, massive
wooden beams on the ceilings, stone walls, stone
fireplaces.Apartment Artisti is accessed via a
small medieval courtyard that leads to the main
door and communal hall.
There is a spacious eat-in kitchen with a views
overlooking the landing and the countryside around
Todi. The kitchen is fully equipped and it features
a wood burning old stone fireplace, the cabinets
are made of antique wood and there is a countertop
of white Carrara marble; dishwasher, double sink,
refrigerator, freezer, cooker and oven.
This
charming Umbria apartment has a large living room
with a massive central stone fireplace, sofa bed
and windows overlooking a private garden, a quiet
neighborhood and the surrounding countryside.
