DESCRIPTION
Day 1 - Arrive in Umbria. The tour will start at the airport where you are flying to or at the pick-up point agreed. You will be met by a member of JustUmbria team and driven to the beautiful accommodation we have reserved in Spoleto. A welcome aperitif and dinner will be held for you and your fellow travellers. The first and the last day of the tour will be tailored according to your flight schedules.

Day 2 - Todi & Orvieto. Today we start our itinerary from Todi, a town perched atop a hill, overlooking the Tiber Valley. Its threefold city walls, enclose unexpected treasurers. We will then immerse ourselves in nature for a lunch in a beautiful winery, where we will be introduced to the Orvieto Classico DOC in a relaxing wine tasting enjoying an amazing view on the town of Orvieto, where we will spend the afternoon. This small jewel, built around three thousand years ago by the Etruscans on a dramatic tufo cliffs, is famous for its stunning Duomo, simply one of the most beautiful Italian churches.

Day 3 - Marmore Falls & Piediluco Lake. Today will be a nature day! We will start from the Marmore Falls, the impressive and magnificent waterfall created by the Romans. You can walk through the numerous paths and caves in the surrounding park climbing up to the top or vice-versa. This amazing place combines nature and history, inspired by many artists and poets, including Lord Byron. For lunch time we will move to the nearby PIediluco Lake. You will choose if being active or relaxing suits your mood in this magical peaceful place totally immersed in the green heart of Italy. Afterwards, on the way back to Spoleto we will stop for a visit at the beautiful Abbazia di San Pietro in Valle and Scheggino.

Day 4 - Valnerina, Norcia and Cascia. Valnerina is an unspoiled green valley, away from main tourist tracks, a place full of culture, traditions and history. We will enjoy visiting some of the numerous villages, abbeys and castles perched on the slopes of the green surrounding hills. By the end of the morning we will reach Norcia, where we will have an amazing lunch with local delicacies. We will also stop for a visit of the nearby Cascia on the way back. During spring and summer we highly reccomend an additional day to visit the Sibillini Park.

Day 5 - San Gemini, Carsulae Park and Narni. Today we will visit three beautiful old villages. We start from San Gemini; we will walk through the centre of the town and we will also visit the springs of mineral water and the nearby Archaeological park of the Roman city of Carsulae. We will have lunch at a genuine local restaurant on the way to Narni, where we will spend the afternoon enjoing the fascinating underground tour and the dominant military fortress of Albornoz.

Day 6 - Amelia & small villages close by. The pre-roman town of Amelia, with its 27 centuries of history, enclosed by the impressive fortifying walls, is the most classic example of hilltop italian village. We will lead you through the labirynth of alleys up to the Cathedral and the tower, exploring the incredibly well preserved Roman cisterns, built to preserve rainwater, the beautiful small theatre and many renaissance buildings. Amelia is where we, at JustUmbria, are from, so, beside the lunch there will be plenty of surprices for you today. On the way to and from Amelia, we will drive through sightseeing countryside back-roads stopping by at numerous remote villages far away from turistic tracks; Toscolano, Lugnano in Teverina, Giove to name a few. You will be amazed by the landscape.

Day 7- Truffle Hunting & Spoleto. Today we will meet with the truffle hunter, which will bring us into the woods for a wonderful hicking experience seeking out the precious Umbrian “tartufo” lead by the trained dog. We will then enjoy the truffles at lunch, with fresh pasta and other home-produced delicacies. You will be free for the rest of the day in Spoleto. We will meet again for the last dinner at one of our favourite restaurants.

Day 8 - Farewell. Today will be the farewell day. We will drive you to the airport (or any drop-off point of your preference). The first and the last day of the tour will be tailored according to your flight schedules.
